This contest is for IMSI member packers and wholesalers in Canada and the United States. Unlike most industry contests though, you do not select the syrup to be entered. Instead, you provide us with a list of five locations where your syrup can be purchased off the shelf by a person designated by the IMSI. Class 1, for International Packers or Distributors, has a $200 entry fee. Class 2, for Gift and Specialty Shops, requires an entry fee of $100. Publicize your maple products by entering them in this international contest.
Winners in each Class will be honored at the Annual Meeting traditionally held during the 3rd week of October. Photographs and press releases will be issued by the IMSI immediately following the presentation. Information on contest winners will be sent to international industry and food publications. A special gold medal plaque will be presented to each winner for their use in promoting their products worldwide. 2003 will be the 6th year that the contest has been held. For five years in a row, the International Category was won by the Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers’ Cooperative located in Plessisville, Quebec. The Cooperative’s General Manager is Luc Lussier, and its President is René Ares.
